When to apply
Credit applications update - Semester 1 2026
Applications submitted from April 1 onwards are passed the Census date (March 31) and will not be processed for Semester 1.聽聽
If your application is submitted by 11.59pm March 31聽and credit is granted for a unit you are currently enrolled in, we will remove the unit on your behalf after Census date without academic or financial penalty. Please note that 'processing' your application does not guarantee it will be approved.
Generally, you'll need to apply by the deadlines for each semester. However, there are some exceptions so it's important you read the additional considerations based on your individual circumstances.

- We prioritise applications submitted before the deadline, and in most cases these will be processed by the start of the semester.
- If you apply after the deadline, your application may not be processed by the census date, which is the last day you can withdraw from a unit without penalty.
- If you apply after the census date your credit application will not be considered for the current semester.
Additional considerations
If you're applying directly to the University for admission to a course, you can apply for credit at the same time. You'll need to do this by the deadline related to your direct admission application.
Alternately, you can wait until you've enrolled in your course and then apply for credit as a current student by the deadline listed above.
