A Unique Student Identifier (USI) is your personal education identifier issued by the Australian Government. It is made up of 10 letters and numbers.
If you’re studying in Australia, you're required by the Australian Government to have a USI to be able to graduate and receive your award.
Your USI is unique so you can only have one. If you're unsure whether you've already created one, you can .
You can only apply while you're in Australia. If you haven’t arrived in the country yet but know that you will, you won’t be able to create a USI until you’ve gone through customs in Australia. You can apply for a USI when you arrive.
Creating your USI is simple and takes about 5 minutes.
You will be prompted to provide your USI in Sydney Student during enrolment.
If you are an international student and have not yet arrived in Australia, select that you are offshore so that you won't need to provide a USI when you enrol. As soon as you arrive in Australia you will need to get your USI and provide it to us.
You need to provide a USI as soon as possible. Without one you won’t be allowed to access your semester results or graduate.
