Other Sydney top performers include Public Health (18th), Veterinary Science (24th), Computer Science and Engineering (25th), and Library and Information Services (27th).聽
GRAS rankings use a range of objective academic indicators and third-party data to measure the performance of world universities in respective subjects. Metrics include research output, research influence, international collaboration, research quality and international academic awards.

鈥淓lsewhere, a recent study created a database of more than 70,000 records of animal influenza from 1970 to 2016, providing useful insights into these viruses. This data gives public health authorities a framework to detect and track viral outbreaks in animals that threaten to emerge in human populations.聽
鈥淚n Business, our Future of Transport Research Group created a digital interface for all transport modes,聽 enabling commuters to reduce car use and make getting to work cheaper and simpler.鈥

This year鈥檚 league table contains rankings of universities in 55 subjects across Natural Sciences, Engineering, Life Sciences, Medical Sciences, and Social Sciences. More than 1,900 out of 5,000 universities across 104 countries and regions are included in the rankings.
In other rankings results this year, the University jumped 22 places in the highly regarded 2024 QS World University Rankings and is now placed equal 19th globally.聽聽聽聽
It achieved five subjects in the top 50 globally in the latest Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings by Subject 2024.鈥
