Postgraduate Skills Dating Workshop

Just like speed-dating鈥ut more useful!
Being successful as a postgraduate student is about much more than just producing a good thesis. Join this workshop to meet your peers, share your knowledge, and acquire new skills!

Who:听Higher Degree by Research students with interests in Southeast Asia听at the University of Sydney
When: Wednesday 16 June 2021, from 3-5pm
Where:听University of Sydney, Camperdown Campus

Being successful as a postgraduate student is about much more than just producing a good thesis. From finding the right software referencing system and crunching stats to managing supervisor relationships and getting to grips with your methodology, there is a lot for postgraduate students to get up to speed on.

In this skills-dating workshop, we invite you to identify what you鈥檙e great at, what you need help with and, most importantly, to learn from and share these skills with your peers. You don鈥檛 need to be an expert in EndNote or Mixed Methods to attend; you simply need to be willing to share your approach to learning. And, if you鈥檙e not sure exactly what skills you have to share with your peers, you can come along and learn from other postgrads who鈥檝e been in the same situation during their research journey.听

What鈥檚 in it for me?

  • This is primarily a social event! Come along and catch up with other Southeast Asia-focused postgraduates in a fun and supportive environment
  • Get tips and pointers about skills you didn鈥檛 even know you needed
  • Share your hard-earned knowledge about the challenges you鈥檝e faced in your PhD and how you鈥檝e overcome them (or not!)

Registrations are now closed.
