Join us for another iteration of our much-loved writing retreat. Over three days, you will disconnect from the noise around you, reconnect with each other, and make inroads on your writing project.Ìý
The program will include structured writing time, informal discussions and debriefing sessions, and plenty of good food and coffee.Ìý
Expected outcomes of the retreat include:
A limited number of travel grants are available for participants travelling from outside Sydney, NSW. Please see details below.Ìý
Attention SSEAC Residency Workshop participants and Writing Fellows: do not assume that you are automatically registered! You must register to attend the writing retreat just like any other program.
Ìý
To be eligible for this retreat, applicants must be:
* Preference will be given to participants from the University of Sydney. A limited number of positions will be made available to participants from other Australian tertiary institutions on a first-come, first-served basis.
** A fully vaccinated person is a person who has received the number of doses required for a complete course of a COVID-19 vaccine. For further information on vaccination requirements please visit theÌý.Ìý
As part of this event, SSEAC is offering a limited number of travel grants for participants travelling from outside Sydney, NSW.ÌýThese grants are subject to COVID-19 travel restrictions.

No grants will be provided to applicants based inÌýgreater metropolitanÌýSydneyÌý(this includes the central Coast and Wollongong).
Grant recipients must attend all three days of the retreat. Grants will only to be paid AFTER the retreat in case COVID-19 restrictions prevent interstate travel.
SSEAC is not liable for any costs incurred from the cancellation of travel due to changing COVID-19 travel restrictions.
UnfortunatelyÌýwe are not in a position to award grants toÌýparticipants at non-Australian institutions or participantsÌýwho are based outside of Australia. No grants will be provided to applicants based in Sydney.

Applicants will be advised whether their application has been successfulÌýin late January, and no later than Tuesday 31 January 2023.
Please take note of this timeline, especially if you are applying from out of state. We are unable to advise of the success of your application any earlier than this. Please do not make flight and accommodation bookings unless and until you have been advised that your application is successful.
