Why it's easier to study overseas
From extending the winter break to broadening the eligibility criteria, here are all the latest changes and tools to help you combine study and travel during your degree.
Longer winter break
The new six-week winter break (22 June to 5 August) was introduced to provide more options (and time) to go on a , ranging from two to six weeks long. While it鈥檒l be winter in Sydney and the rest of the Southern Hemisphere, there are many summer schools, programs and courses offered in the UK, Europe and North America for a perfect mid-year trip! Applications for these are now open on the .
New-Look Global Mobility Database
The Global Mobility Database is your one-stop shop for all the different international programs and experiences available during your degree. Must-know new features include:
-听听听听听听听听听听: browse all the programs and search by city, country, area of study and course type. Don鈥檛 forget to hit the 鈥楲ike鈥� button on any programs that catch your eye so you can see and share your favourites later
-听听听听听听听听听听: see when on-campus information sessions and drop-in advising events will be held. Run by knowledgeable Exchange Advisors, these sessions will help answer all your questions about destinations and applications!

Eligibility changes
With the aim to make聽global opportunities more accessible,听the University鈥檚 minimum eligibility requirements for overseas study have changed. Students looking to undertake a global program for credit are now eligible if they have a weighted average mark (WAM) of at least 50 and if they are successfully progressing in their course. Keep in mind that these are Sydney鈥檚 minimum requirements and you may need to meet further requirements of the host institution, such as higher grades, language ability, unit of study prerequisites and more before being accepted into a mobility program.
