Sydney Student outage impacting Discontinue Fail (DF) deadline
Due to a planned upgrade from 5 pm Friday 29 May to 8 am Monday 1 June, Sydney Student was unavailable for students to remove a unit of study prior to the DF deadline on 31 May for some sessions.
If you were impacted by this outage, you can submit a request to remove a unit and have a DF grade applied. Find out more about what you need to do.
You can drop a unit before the unit's census date in Sydney Student. After the census date there may be financial and/or academic penalties.

You can no longer discontinue from a unit after the last day of teaching, which is the last date to discontinue fail (DF) unless you can demonstrate special circumstances. This means:
HDR students
If you would like to discontinue from a coursework unit of study, you wil need to contact Higher Degree by Research Administration CentreÌý(±á¶Ù¸é´¡°ä).
Late discontinuation under special circumstances
If the census date has passed, but you have been impacted by circumstances beyond your control you can apply to discontinue from a unit of study under special circumstances. Find out more about how this process works.
If you intend to withdraw from all your units of study and it's before census, you should look at suspending your studies.
