Why study biology with us?

Biology is essential to understanding the complexities of how lifeforms interact with each other and their environments and is the key to solving global challenges听like biodiversity conservation and sustainability in an ever-changing environment.听

Investigate life from molecular mechanisms to ecosystem function and everything in between, through experiential learning opportunities that will take you from classrooms into laboratories, fieldwork and beyond.

Be astounded and endlessly fascinated by the immense diversity of biology and feel prepared for a career that can take you around the world.

Biology students can gain practical experience in one of our many field sites, including听One Tree Island听in the Great Barrier Reef, depending on which study area you choose. Students can also work with听听staff, facilities and animals, and do research with partners, such as the CSIRO and the Royal Botanic Garden, Sydney.

You can choose specialist biology degrees, or undertake a biology-related major, minor, or electives within one of our other degrees.
