The Wildlife Health and Conservation Hospital (WHCH) is聽a centre of excellence in wildlife care and training, serving the communities of south-western and southern Sydney, the Wollondilly, the Southern Highlands and beyond.
Our聽Sydney wildlife hospital is a dedicated wildlife and teaching hospital staffed by experienced wildlife veterinarians and nurses who work closely with聽rescue and rehabilitation groups such as聽,听, other carer groups, the public, and general veterinary practices.
We provide expert veterinary care and rehabilitation to sick, injured, and orphaned wildlife, aiming to release them back into their natural habitats.
Our goals are to alleviate suffering, promote improved standards of care, enhance our understanding of wildlife health threats, and collaborate closely with our community to address these issues.
We provide continuing care to all of our patients - either by consultation or in the case of an emergency we provide immediate care without appointment.
We offer veterinary care by consultation for routine and follow-up care and wildlife emergency services for acute cases during opening hours.
We offer veterinary and rehabilitation care to all native wildlife including mammals, reptiles, amphibians, birds, and fish.聽
We do not provide care for pets. We treat wildlife only.
We ensure that each patient receives a thorough assessment and the best treatment and support to optimise their short and long-term welfare.

As part of the聽Sydney School of Veterinary Science, WHCH is committed to training the next generation of veterinarians, advancing scientific research, providing vital veterinary care, and educating the public about the importance of wildlife conservation.
Veterinary students gain hands-on experience through clinical exposure, practical training, and mentorship opportunities.
They observe and participate in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of various animal health issues under the supervision of experienced veterinarians.
