Miscarriages of justice can and do occur in countries like Australia; Not Guilty, a collaboration between the School of Psychology and the Sydney University Law School, is a research project in which cases of possible wrongful convictions are reviewed.聽In addition to the significant social justice implications of the project, Not Guilty also provides an educational experience in which students will need to apply the knowledge acquired during their courses. Moreover, students will have the opportunity to work closely together and learn from other student鈥檚 different but relevant fields.
Our aim is to seek justice for wrongfully convicted聽inmates while providing a unique educational experience where聽students can apply the knowledge from their courses. Students from聽the School of Psychology聽and Sydney Law School work closely together and learn from other each other鈥檚 different fields. We hope this聽program will聽assist in forming closer collaboration between different fields and assist improvements in the legal system. We work together with different law enforcement organisations and legal professionals.

We have a number of volunteer opportunities. Duties for volunteers may include reading through cases, applying literature to issues within the case, and evaluating research.
