With events programed across the CBD and greater Sydney, film buffs will be offered the choice of 250 movies from across the globe, along with a vibrant program of talks, screenings and special events featuring University of Sydney academics, leading filmmakers, directors and actors.
鈥淭he very first Sydney Film Festival was held on the campus of the University of Sydney in 1954 and has grown to become an iconic feature of our city鈥檚 cultural calendar,鈥 said, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.

Senior film lecturer聽will guide audiences on a seven-film journey through the wild, weird and plain spooky horror genre, as part of the program.
鈥淲e鈥檙e thrilled to be presenting the 鈥楩reak Me Out鈥 program at this year鈥檚 Sydney Film Festival,鈥 said Dr Isaacs. 鈥淚t is mix of horror and cult cinema and speaks to everything that fascinates us about the movies.鈥
He will also be joined by recent PhD graduate Dr Olivia Oliver-Hopkins and guest programmer Richard Kuipers for the panel discussion on 16 June to debate and defend their love of horror cinema.
Students will also be offered the opportunity to intern throughout the Festival鈥檚 program, a unique chance to get up close to the film industry鈥檚 best and brightest.
