University signs MOU with Tech Mahindra

Focus on joint research and experiential learning for students
The University has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Tech Mahindra, a global digital transformation provider, to undertake collaborative research and provide experiential learning opportunities to students.

The MoU provides an opportunity for the University of Sydney and Tech Mahindra to collaborate and exchange expertise in common areas of interest, and allows for the exchange of academics and internships for students at Tech Mahindra鈥檚 research facilities.

The agreement was signed by B.K. Mishra, Tech Mahindra鈥檚 Senior VP & Global Delivery Head, and Tania Rhodes-Taylor, the University鈥檚 Vice-Principal (External Relations) last month.

Ms Rhodes-Taylor and Professor Richard Miles, the University鈥檚 Pro Vice-Chancellor (Education 鈥 Enterprise and Engagement) were present at Tech Mahindra鈥檚 Hyderabad campus to sign the document and initiate the partnership between the two institutions.

At the signing, Mr Mishra said: 鈥淲e are delighted to collaborate with the University of Sydney, one of the leading universities of the world. This MOU opens a lot of new opportunities for joint pursuits, especially in the area of research and technology.鈥

鈥淭his partnership will provide a platform for innovating new ideas arising out of technology research and help create real world applications and digital solutions,鈥 he added.

Ms Rhodes-Taylor said: 鈥淭he University of Sydney is pleased to partner with Tech Mahindra, to explore ways we might work together on research and innovation projects across a range of disciplines and shared challenges.鈥

鈥淚mportantly, the MOU also provides an opportunity for our students to be involved in projects at Tech Mahindra鈥檚 research facilities in Australia, India and around the world 鈥 to develop their skills and knowledge through hands-on experience with a global company,鈥 she explained.
