Statement regarding universities and foreign interference
Vice-Chancellor and Principal Dr Michael Spence issues the following:
鈥淚f either Professor Hamilton or Mr Jennings have any actual evidence of inappropriate collaboration with other nations, the University of Sydney would be grateful to receive this information.
鈥淯nless that is possible, we think they should stop impugning the integrity of our researchers.
鈥淥ur academics are already subject to numerous state and federal laws which govern our operations, as well as the University鈥檚 own policies and practices that protect against inappropriate foreign influence over their activities.
鈥淲orld class universities collaborate internationally. The University of Sydney is open to quality collaborations in research with any country with which Australia has diplomatic relations.鈥�
