Beta Alpha Psi (BAP) is a United States-based organisation which acknowledges outstanding academic achievements and promotes best practice in the study of accounting, finance, and information systems.
During the Washington meeting, Sydney representatives were presented with the coveted 鈥楪old Status鈥 award for their Chapter, which was described as 鈥渃onsistently superior and truly extraordinary.鈥
Its members were also said to take 鈥渆very opportunity available to go above and beyond and to be innovative and out of the box thinkers鈥. Only ten of BAP鈥檚 328 Chapters have won the award. It has been presented to Sydney twice.
The Sydney team in Washington for the presentation included Business School students Camellia Cheng (President), Brian Kane (Vice President), and their fellow executive team, Alex Zhao, Dustin Xu, Jeffrey Brown & Lily Zheng.
While in the United States, Sydney team members Camellia Cheng and Jeffrey Brown also came third in a global best practice challenge with a presentation on how the University of Sydney will 鈥楲aunch into the Next Century鈥.

In another win, the Sydney team took out an Ethics Award sponsored by accounting and financial services firm Grant Thornton. This award seeks to encourage BAP members and their communities to develop 鈥渁 solid ethical foundation and to empower them to act on these principles no matter the situation faced鈥.

The University of Sydney鈥檚 record breaking 3 International Awards from the 2018 Annual Conference in Washington DC during 8th-11th August.
