罢丑别听Centre for International Security Studies聽(CISS) has again climbed in global rankings to reach second in Australia and 32nd in the world for best university-affiliated think tank.
罢丑别听, published annually by the Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program (TTCSP) at the University of Pennsylvania, catalogues and evaluates the policy and civil society impact of over 8000 think tanks around the world.
For the third year running, CISS鈥檚 position in the category of 鈥楤est University Affiliated Think Tanks鈥� has risen, reflecting the quality and cutting-edge nature of the research being produced within the Centre.
鈥淭he fact that CISS has not only maintained but increased its position amongst the world鈥檚 most prestigious university think tanks is a credit to our academic and professional staff who continue to produce and support innovative, policy-relevant research year after year,鈥� CISS Director James Der Derian said.

罢丑别听Global Go To Think Tank Index Report聽combines survey analysis from more than 3,950 university faculty and administrators, journalists, policymakers, think tank scholars and executives and donors, with expert input from more 900 Regional, Functional and Special Areas of Distinction Panels.
The Index places emphasis on leadership; quality and reputation of staff, research and publications; impact on policy actors; ability to bridge the gap between academics and policymakers; use of electronic, print and new media to reach key audiences; and effective fulfilment of the terms of gifts, grants and other financial support.
CISS was established in 2006 through a gift from Sir Michael Hintze, and addresses pressing issues related to biosecurity, ecosecurity, gender security, geosecurity, infosecurity and regional security.
