Fisher Library is home to an Albion Press, affectionately known as the聽Piscator Press. The Albion printing press was purchased by the Library in the early 1960s and it was the passion of former University Librarian,聽Harrrison聽Bryan. Today- The Library invites hand-craft printers and printmakers to apply for their Printer in Residence Program.

Last year, Wendy Murray, the Library's inaugural Printer in Residence, combined the legacy art of Letterpress printing with screen print and digital printing processes to produce a collection of short, accessible interventions about the politics of urbanisation. The Library again aims to聽foster聽a creative dialogue between print and digital processes with this year鈥檚 Printer in Residence.

Hand-craft printers and printmakers are invited to propose a project for a print publication or creative work to be made in the workshop and completed during an 8-week residency during Semester 2 2019. The residency is supported by payment of $5,000.聽
