The Department of English is pleased to announce that the听award听under the David Harold Tribe Poetry Bequest will be made in 2018.听

This听award has been made possible by a听generous gift to the university by , author and humanist, to promote the writing of poetry in听Australia.听

The bequest offers a听cash prize of $12,000听for the听best original poem of up to 100听lines听submitted to the Department of English, provided that the judging panel听is of the opinion that the work is of sufficient听merit to warrant the award听being made.听The winning poem will be听published in听.

The听judges for this year's award are eminent poets Kate Lilley, Pam Brown and Keri Glastonbury.

Entry requirements

• An original, previously unpublished poem听
• Up to 100 lines
• Completed not earlier than three years before the closing date听
• Entrants must Australia residents for a minimum of four years
• Only one entry per poet will be accepted
• Entry is free
• Previously听published or prize-winning poems will not be accepted
• Entries听must not be under consideration for publication听
• The poet听must present the entry under his/her own name (not under a pseudonym)
• Only electronic submissions via 听will be accepted听
