The Sydney School of Architecture, Design and Planning hosts regular exhibitions in the聽Tin Sheds Gallery,聽the only gallery in Australia dedicated to fostering and advancing public debate about the role of architecture, design and planning in contemporary society through the production of research-led exhibitions, publications and related activities.
The gallery provides a platform for projects that inspire the imagination and ignite critical dialogue, addressing the myriad forces that shape the built and virtual environment.听Exhibition opening nights are a great opportunity for industry guests to connect with our students and academics, and contribute to the broader discourse on local and international architecture, urban and design culture.

聽consists of a Rothwell Chair appointment, research appointments and an associated program of activities to elevate the standard of architectural and urbanism practice.
A program of public events, including lectures and exhibitions, is conducted throughout the three-year tenure of the Rothwell Chair. The program aims to provide leadership in architectural and urban design, foster research and learning, and facilitate connections with the architectural profession, both locally and internationally.
Japanese architecture studio Atelier Bow-Wow has been appointed the聽2024 Garry and Susan Rothwell Chairs in Architectural Design Leadership. Taking over from French architects Lacaton and Vassal, Atelier Bow-Wow will facilitate programs at the school focusing on connecting urban and rural areas and communities.

The festival is the Henry Halloran Research Trust鈥檚 flagship event program designed to encourage discussion about our urban and regional built environments. The panel discussions, keynote addresses, city walks and student film competition all underscore the need for research informed dialogue and policy innovation to bring about better urban and regional futures.听
