The new Fellows, who are both from the University鈥檚 , have been honoured for their distinguished contributions to their disciplines and to society:
Professor Fitzmaurice and Professor Schlosberg are among elected to the the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia this year.
President of the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia, Professor Jane Hall, congratulated the scholars elected this year.
鈥淭hese new members are really at the cutting edge in social research and policy, and they鈥檝e all made enormous contributions to their fields,鈥 she said in a statement . 鈥淚t鈥檚 a privilege to have people of this calibre as members of the Academy.鈥
University of Sydney Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research)聽聽echoed these sentiments and congratulated the new Fellows.

They are also research leaders - having taken on significant leadership roles at Departmental, School and Faculty level, as well as being passionate advocates for the values of the social sciences in the broader community.
